Serena Steele, RN

Serena Steele is a graduate of Hartford Hospital School of Nursing.  Her long career has provided her with a wide variety of experiences in many areas.  Serena worked for several years at The Hospital for Special Care as Head Nurse, responsible for a large unit caring for severely mentally and physically disabled individuals for all ages.  She also worked at Connecticut Valley Hospital on a medical/psychiatric unit where she supervised the care of very complex patients who suffered from both mental and physical illnesses.  For several years, Serena also worked in the homecare field, where she taught both clients and staff, and provided hospice care to terminally ill clients.
Serena’s career pathways have also led her to local school system where she provided individual care for a severely disabled child.  Most recently, she worked as an RN Consultant for an agency that provided case management, assessment and advocacy for developmentally disabled individuals in group home settings.  Serena has been part of the staff at CES for four years.
